Capturing Ashley and Chris' Love Story
I had the incredible honor of documenting Ashley and Chris's wedding on 04.11.2023.
The journey began nearly a year ago when they reached out to me, in December, and from that moment, we stayed connected, planning every detail.
Two portrait photoshoots later, the big day arrived, and the anticipation was palpable.

Preparation:
The Big Day finally arrived, and the preparations took place at Rydges Hotel in Campbelltown, southwest Sydney. We kicked off with Chris and his groomsmen, sharing the last shot of whisky before dressing him up. His best man and father lent a helping hand, and even Ashley's dad made a heartwarming visit
Just in time, We reached Ash to capture the final touches of her makeup and hair. Last minutes for chats and laughs with the girls and ‘ a must ‘ - a glass of Prosecco to ease the nerves.
The moment arrived to don the dress. And, oh my God, what a dress it was! Ash looked absolutely stunning! We invited the family for the first look. They were so proud of her. That moment is always emotional, for everybody in the room.
After this, we hurried to prepare for the ceremony, ensuring cameras were in place, microphones connected, and the sound was checked.
Ceremony:
The ceremony commenced.
Short, sweet, and deeply moving.
Ash and Chris exchanged personal vows, showcasing their profound connection.
The intimacy of this moment resonated with everyone, highlighting the couple's genuine understanding and anticipation of a shared future.
Portrait Time:
After the ceremony and family photos, we took the bridal party for a quick photoshoot.
Then, we stayed with the newlywed couple, now Ashley and Chris Shiels, to give them a few minutes to be just with each other.
No guests, no family, no friends around—just them and the love they share. We were merely there to capture it.
Reception:
The reception kicked off with a lively entrance, featuring fireball shots to the beat of "Fireball."
The speeches from both parents were heartwarming, affirming that Ashley and Chris were truly made for each other.
The maid of honour, best man, and the couple themselves shared their heartfelt words, leading to the cake cutting and a dance floor filled with joy.
After a delightful meal, the maid of honor and best man took the spotlight, followed by Ashley and Chris.
The first dance, surrounded by dry ice creating a Disney-like ambiance, was a slow, romantic affair with twirls.then it seamlessly transitioned into a lively dance floor where guests joined in the celebration.
The reception continued into the late night, culminating in a spectacular send-off for the newlyweds through a tunnel of sparkles.
Throughout the day, Ashley and Chris made me feel like a friend with a camera, not just a stranger, and their kindness and effort were truly appreciated. Here's to a lifetime of love and happiness for the newlyweds, Ashley and Chris Shiels!
